HTJ ERCP & Cholangioscopy Workshop

On 3rd June 2026 and 4th June 2026, Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar in Seremban successfully hosted the ERCP & Cholangioscopy Workshop, bringing together HPB Surgeons, gastroenterologists and nurses for two days of clinical learning and knowledge exchange.

Supported by Medic Pro Healthcare Sdn Bhd, the workshop provided participants with the opportunity to hands-on exposure to the eyeMAX cholangioscopy system.The workshop was led by Mr. Leow Voon Meng, who shared his expertise and valuable clinical experience throughout the program. Through live case demonstrations and interactive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of procedural techniques, clinical decision-making, and best practices in therapeutic endoscopy.

Live Case Demonstrations

A key highlight of the workshop was the live ERCP sessions, where participants observed a variety of complex cases performed in real time. The demonstrations provided practical exposure to procedural planning, device selection, cannulation techniques, stone extraction, and the management of challenging biliary cases.

A particular emphasis was placed on the use of the eyeMAX cholangioscope, which enabled direct visualization of the biliary system during difficult cases. In selected patients with large and hard biliary stones, laser lithotripsy was performed under direct cholangioscopic guidance, allowing effective fragmentation and clearance of the stones.

Throughout the sessions, Mr. Leow provided detailed explanations of each step and shared practical tips and decision-making strategies. This created an engaging and interactive learning environment, encouraging active discussion and knowledge exchange among participants.

The HTJ ERCP & eyeMAX Workshop concluded successfully with strong participation and positive feedback from attendees.
