Medic Pro Healthcare was proud to support the GastroUiTM G.I. Motility Workshop 2026 (5th Edition), held at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah, UiTM from 22–24 April 2026. The three-day programme brought together gastroenterologists, surgeons, trainees and GI assistants from different hospitals for an engaging journey of learning, collaboration, and innovation in GI motility.
Day 1 – Pre-Workshop
The workshop began with a dedicated pre-workshop programme tailored for GI assistants focusing on the essential foundations of GI motility practice. Sessions covered the core principles of esophageal manometry and pH monitoring, proper setup and catheter placement, troubleshooting techniques, reprocessing of esophageal manometry probes, and post-procedure care.
Participants also gained valuable exposure through live demonstrations using the Diversatek HRiM Manometry System and ZephR Reflux Monitoring System, providing practical insight into real-time procedural workflow and clinical application. The sessions reinforced the importance of proper data acquisition and equipment handling in ensuring reliable and high-quality motility studies.

Day 2 – Main Workshop
The main workshop continued with interactive lectures and intensive hands-on sessions covering High Resolution Impedance Manometry (HRiM) and pH-impedance interpretation. Topics included HRiM interpretation based on the Chicago Classification, analysis of pH-impedance tracings, and management strategies guided by upper GI physiology studies from both medical and surgical perspectives.
Participants worked directly with HRiM and pH-impedance tracings under expert guidance, allowing them to translate theory into real-world clinical skills with immediate feedback from experienced mentors. Hands-on sessions focused on recognising normal studies, the spectrum of dysphagia disorders, reflux disorders, and other miscellaneous motility conditions through small-group interactive learning.
The workshop dinner later in the evening provided a meaningful opportunity to show appreciation to faculty and participants while fostering networking and collaboration in a more relaxed setting.

Day 3 – Innovation & Collaborative Discussion
The final day highlighted the future of GI motility diagnostics with sessions on oesophageal mucosal integrity testing and wireless pH capsule reflux monitoring. Live demonstrations featuring MiVu™ Mucosal Integrity Testing and the alpHaONE wireless pH capsule system provided participants with valuable insight into how evolving technologies are enhancing the diagnosis and management of oesophageal and reflux-related disorders.
The programme concluded with group analysis competitions, case presentations, and panel discussions, encouraging collaborative learning, critical thinking, and multidisciplinary exchange among participants and faculty members. These sessions allowed participants to apply their knowledge, defend clinical reasoning, and gain deeper perspectives through expert discussion.

The workshop also brought together distinguished faculty including Prof Dr Lee Yeong Yeh, Assoc Prof Dr Andrew Ong Ming Liang, Dr Mohammad Shukri Jahit, Dr Rafiz Abdul Rani, Dr Thevaraajan Jayaraman, and many other contributors from the UiTM organising team.
Medic Pro Healthcare would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Hospital UiTM organising committee, faculty members, and all participants for making this workshop a meaningful and successful event.
We look forward to continuing our support in advancing GI motility education, innovation, and patient care across the region.
